PAL, MIAA UNVEIL NEW TRANSIT LOUNGE IN NAIA TERMINAL 1

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) and flag carrier Philippine Airlines officially opened the new Passenger Transit Lounge at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 recently.

The transit lounge - located at the pre-departure area - is open 24 hours daily and is adjacent to the OFW Lounge.

The lounge provides a comfortable and relaxing space for passengers with connecting flights as well as a suitable holding area for inadmissible passengers excluded by the Bureau of Immigration.

Under the partnership agreement, PAL provides for lounge amenities such as comfortable seats, charging stations, and shower facilities.

"We trust that travelers will find the facility as a welcome respite while enroute to their final destinations," MIAA General Manager Eric Ines said.

Philippine Airlines President and Chief Operating Officer Capt. Stanley K. Ng, on the other hand, said, "Our working partnership with the MIAA on this much-needed project will ensure the comfort and convenience of passengers traveling through the Manila gateway. PAL always advocates collaboration with industry partners. Together, we can do things better."

Present during the event were MIAA General Manager Eric Ines, BID Commissioner Norman Tansingco, PAL President and COO Capt. Stanley Ng and PAL EVP Atty. Carlos Luis Fernandez as well as other key officials of MIAA and PAL.
