Online Booking

Our online booking features a fully automated facility called “Calendar Pricing,” which immediately displays the lowest fare available over a seven-day range – three days before and three days after the planned travel date. This helps travelers quickly determine the most convenient and cheapest option to fly.

Important Notices

a. Credit Card Use and Presentation

Philippine Airlines may contact the card holder or the passenger, through the contact details provided for additional validation of the reservation and/or to require presentation of the credit card used for payment.


Without prejudice to criminal prosecution under the Access Devices Regulation Act of the Philippines (Republic Act No. 8484), PAL may cancel a confirmed reservation or may remove from any flight any passenger if PAL has reason to believe that a ticket(s) has been purchased by credit card through fraudulent means.

b. Warning

Republic Act No. 8484 imposes a penalty of six (6) to twelve (12) years imprisonment and a fine of Php10,000.00 or twice the value obtained by the offense, to those who make fraudulent use of credit/debit cards and to those who benefit from the tickets purchased from such fraudulent transaction. Passengers are warned to ensure that the tickets they are holding were not purchased through fraudulent means. Passengers who are holding tickets purchased by credit card through fraudulent means may be apprehended at the airport for violation of the Access Devices Act in relation to the Anti-Fencing Law.

Traveller Information

Fares and flight availability may be checked across a seven-day range – three days before and three days after the planned travel date without the need to register or log-in.


Availability and Fares

The lowest fare across a seven-day period or among multiple flights may be viewed for the specified or exact travel date. Bookings for a flight can be made as early as eleven (11) months from the travel date until two (2) hours before the flight.


Type of Trip

The three types of trips are available for booking online: One-way, round-trip and multi-city destination trips.



Types of Passengers

As to Age:

Adult (12y +)– A passenger who has reached his/her 12th birthday as of the commencement of travel. An adult traveling with children must be at least 18 years old.

 

Children (2y –less than 12y)– A passenger who has reached his/her 2nd birthday but not his/her 12th birthday as of the date of commencement of travel. A child aged two (2) to less than eight (8) years old should always be accompanied by an adult passenger who is at least eighteen (18) years old. A child aged eight (8) to less than twelve (12) years old may travel unaccompanied provided that a ticket should be availed at the ticket office or through PAL reservations hotline for further assistance.

 

Note: For international travel: Minors below 13 years of age are not allowed to travel alone.

Infant (16d –less than 24m)– A passenger at least sixteen (16) days old and has not reached his/her 2nd birthday as of the date of commencement of travel. We follow the One-Infant-Per-Adult Policy.

 

Infant Passengers

The infant must travel with the adult to whom the infant’s ticket is associated with. If the accompanying adult cannot travel with the infant, the infant may be allowed to travel with another adult qualified to accompany the infant under the law only if both the following conditions are met:

  • The original accompanying adult is unable to travel only because of medical, death, or immigration problems
  • The corresponding supporting documents are submitted to PAL.

Infants turning Two (2) enroute

Passengers who are already two (2) years of age at the time of the return trip are considered children and are required by regulation to have a seat. Parents or guardians must call PAL Reservations Hotline (+632 8855-8888 or US and Canada Toll Free Number 1-800-435-9725)or visit a PAL Ticket Office in order to reserve a seat for the infant on the scheduled return flight, which will be subject to seat availability and payment of additional fare.


As to Application of Discounts or Exemptions under applicable Philippine Laws:

Senior Citizen(60y +) – Resident Filipino Citizen of the Philippines at least sixty (60) years old as of the date of advanced booking.


Person with Disability – Resident Filipino Citizens with long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments, which, in interaction with various barriers may hinder their full and effective participation in society and on an equal basis with others, recognized as such by, and registered with, the Philippine National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) of the local government unit where they reside. Must present a valid ID for a disabled person issued by the barangay Chairman or city or town Mayor of the place where the PWD resides, or a transportation discount fare ID issued by the National Council for the Welfare of Disabled Persons (NCWDP). Passengers are entitled to a 20% Discount on Regular Domestic Fares.

 

Overseas Filipino Workers – Filipino migrant workers, people with Filipino citizenship who reside in another country for a limited period of employment. OFWs identified by various Terminal Operators to be exempt from the collection of International Passenger Service Charge (IPSC) upon presentation of documentation of proof of exemption, such as: Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) issued by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA); and, for Balik Manggagawa: photocopies of Valid Work Visa/Work Permit, Valid Employment Contract, Current Employment Certificate, Valid Company ID, Recent Pay Slip.

 

Student – A Student refers to a Resident Filipino Citizen currently enrolled in elementary, secondary, technical-vocational, or higher educational institutions. This does not include students enrolled in post-graduate and informal short-term and seminar-type courses.

For Domestic flights, 25 years old and below are entitled to a 20% Discount on Regular Domestic Fares and VAT Exemption on Domestic Fares except for selected Economy Supersaver and Economy Saver (K/E/T/U/O BCCs)

For international flights, the student must be between 12 to 31 years of age. Passengers must have a valid International Student Identity Card (ISIC), student number, student visa or a Letter of Acceptance from the school for verification. These documents must be presented at the time of booking/ticket purchase and during check-in at the airport.

Note: International student discounts are subject to promotional offers.

 

Laborer – A Laborer or Worker that is valid for an international flight only. Upon airport check-in, collection of a photocopy of a Work Certificate of employer or Certificate from the Department of Labor, a valid Overseas Employment Certificate or Visa Category or Document Number must be presented.

Military - Resident Filipino Citizens who are AFP / PNP, Phil Coast Guard, Medal of Valor Awardee, and their qualified dependents; in active service are entitled to a 20% Discount on Regular Domestic Fares.

Seacrew – Valid for Seamen that is valid for an international flight only. Upon airport check-in, collection of photocopy of Letter of Guarantee must be presented.


Companion Fare
– availed Companion Fare, must travel with party in same PNR.


Minimum Connecting Time

Minimum connecting time depends on what carrier/terminal the passenger is arriving in and the carrier/terminal where the passenger is connecting to or departing from. The minimum connecting time between airport terminals in Manila and among PAL flights and other airlines vary. Please check the Minimum Connecting Time Table for more information.

 

Advance Seat Selection/Reservation

Passengers may conveniently select their seats in advance while booking online. MyPAL Seat Select such as Extra Legroom and Forward Seats located on preferred sections of the aircraft and standard aisle seats may be reserved with a fee.  Passengers may click on myPAL Seat Select for more information on paid seats.

 

Wheelchair Services

Wheelchair service assistance is extended to availing passengers, free of charge. We require advance notice for proper endorsement to the concerned offices. Passengers needing wheelchair assistance may submit their request upon booking their tickets online and by filling out the Disability Assistance Form through the PAL Help Page 48 hours before their flight.


Type of Ticket

An E-ticket will be issued on ALL Philippine Airlines-operated flights, PAL Express, and other airline code-shared flights.


Acknowledgement of Fares and Conditions

Passengers must read through the Terms and Conditions and tick on the box before he/she can continue with the booking. By clicking the Terms and Conditions box, a passenger has agreed to the rules and penalties indicated.

 

Payment

Credit/Debit Cards used to purchase international tickets online will be quoted and billed in the currency of the country of departure, except for international tickets purchased using American Express cards or international tickets originating from the Philippines, Cambodia, and Vietnam, whose tickets will be quoted and billed in US Dollars (USD).

 

All domestic fares are quoted and charged in Philippine Peso (PHP). Billing and payment currency shall be based on the cardholder’s agreement with the card issuer. Currency conversion may result in differences between the amount charged to the cardholder’s account and the amount billed by the card issuer.

 

Transactions made online are considered purchases in the Philippines. Certain banks may charge foreign transaction fees if the credit card used is issued outside the Philippines. Cardholders may refer to their credit card policy statement if foreign transaction fees will apply to purchases made at www.philippineairlines.com.

 

PAL Currency Conversion

Passenger may opt to pay with a different currency than originally quoted by the system when paying with their Credit Card. Quoted Exchange Rates are under license from XE determined daily at GMT+8 4:00; the Exchange Rate at the time of booking is considered final.

*Our system will automatically verify the credit/debit card used. The credit/debit card will be charged as soon as the booking process is completed and the payment is confirmed.

E-Ticket Itinerary Receipt/Booking Confirmation

Passengers will receive their e-ticket itinerary receipt through their valid e-mail address. A digital or printed copy must be presented at check-in together with the passenger’s valid government-issued photo ID or passport.

To avoid fraudulent transactions and to protect card owners, PAL reserves the right to require presentation of at least a copy of the credit/debit card used in purchasing the ticket(s) online at the ticket collection point, upon check-in, or in cases of reissuance, rebooking, or refund of a ticket.

Philippine Airlines may contact the cardholder or the passenger through the contact details provided for further validation of the reservation or to require presentation of the credit card used for payment.

PAL reserves the right to deny the boarding of passenger(s) or to refuse to reissue, revalidate, rebook, or refund a ticket for failure to comply with the foregoing requirements.

A valid PHOTO ID issued by the government or known corporations is required to enter the terminal.

 

Booking Cancellation

Passengers who wish to cancel their booking may submit requests through our Reservations Hotline or any of our Ticket Offices, or send an e-mail to onlinebooking_refunds@philippineairlines.com. Penalties may apply depending on the conditions attached to the purchased fare. We recommend cancellation of your booking if you will not push through with your flight so you can avoid the No Show Surcharge.

 

Refunds

Voluntary refund may be made through the Manage Booking Facility on PAL mobile app, EXCEPT for the following scenarios below which can be requested through the Reservations Hotline (+632 8855-8888, (+63) 919-056-2255, or US and Canada Toll-Free Number 1-800-435-9725), any of our PAL Ticket Offices, and/or through the PAL Help Page:

  • Reissued tickets
  • Bookings paid using Billease, ATM/Online Banking, Over the Counter payments, DragonPay, Travel Voucher, and Cash payments.
  • Award tickets
  • Bookings with split forms of payment


Payment mode: Alipay

If no ticket has been issued due to system timeout and if the passenger’s Alipay account has been charged, passenger may apply for refund by calling our Reservations Hotline at 02 8888 5555 or our Toll-Free Number at 1-800-435-9725 or click Contact Us to view our directory for other areas. Please note that our hotline is open to serve you daily (7:00AM to 9:00PM Pacific Time or 9:00AM to 11:00PM Eastern Time).

The refund shall be credited back to passenger’s Alipay account.

Payment Mode: Mastercard/Visa/American Express/JCB Credit/Debit Cards/UATP/Diners Club/Discover Card

The refund will be credited back to the credit card account used for ticket purchase. In case such account is closed, refund shall be directly credited back to the bank that issued the closed credit card account (“issuing bank”). The cardholder must collect from the issuing bank the amount credited back by PAL to said issuing bank.

 

If the credit card used is not under the passenger’s account name, the passenger and the credit card holder both agree that:

  • either the passenger or credit card holder may apply for refund application, provided that the credit card holder must present (1) a copy of passenger’s government-issued ID; and (2) passenger’s duly signed authorization letter for the said purpose;
  • the refund will automatically be credited to the credit card account used; and
  • PAL shall not be held liable to passenger and/or credit card holder for any and all damages that may result from the ticket cancellation.


Payment Mode: PayPal/Gcash/WeChatPay/GrabPay/Alipay/Financial Process Exchange/DragonPay/Billease/UnionPay/Online Banking

Some tickets are non-refundable. Passengers must check the fare conditions of the selected fare(s).

 

The refund will be credited back directly to the PayPal, GCash, WeChatPay, GrabPay, Alipay, FPX, or DragonPay account used.

 

*For Over-the-Counter and ATM/Kiosk payments, PAL may get in touch with the customer to request for additional information (e.g. Bank Account number) to process the refund.


Booking Changes

For Booking Changes, you may:

 

Applicable fees, taxes, and fare difference may be collected depending on the conditions attached to the fare. For domestic flights, a 12% Value Added Tax will be added to the total penalty to be collected. Passengers must check the fare conditions of the selected fare(s).

Flight Schedule Changes

Information on schedule changes (if any) after your booking is made, will be communicated via the e-mail indicated in the booking.

Philippine Travel Tax Application or Exemption

Presidential Decree No. 1183, as amended, provides that a travel tax shall be collected from (a) all citizens of the Philippines; (b) permanent resident aliens; and (c) non-immigrant aliens who have stayed in the Philippines for more than one (1) year, who are leaving the Philippines.

Passenger/s may be assessed or asked to pay Philippine Travel Tax based on the following rates:

  • Business, Premium Economy, and Economy Classes:
    Full Tax - PHP 1,620.00
    Children - PHP 810.00
    (2-11 years)

 

If a passenger is exempted from paying the Philippine Travel Tax or is entitled to a reduced travel tax, the passenger must secure applicable certificates below from the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), Department of Tourism (DOT) before booking online.

  • Tax Exemption Certificate (TEC) if you are exempted from paying the Philippine Travel Tax
  • Reduced Travel Tax Certificate (RTTC) if you are qualified to pay for a reduced Philippine Travel Tax and
  • Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) if you are an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW)

Philippine Travel Tax is not included in the price quoted online and passenger must pay with TIEZA. For more information, please visit TIEZA.


International Travel Documentation Requirements

Passengers travelling to international destinations are solely responsible for complying with the laws, regulations, orders, demands, and travel requirements of their intended foreign destinations prior to the travel date.

General Conditions of Carriage

By completing a booking through the Philippine Airlines ONLINE BOOKING facility, passengers: (1) agree to be bound by the same Conditions of Contract and Notices and General Conditions of Carriage between Philippine Airlines and its passengers, as if the booking has been made through other conventional channels; and (2) understand that the General Conditions of Carriage is incorporated by reference into the ticket purchased online.
