Check-In Free Baggage Allowance (FBA)

The total weight of the check-in baggage should follow the Free Baggage Allowance of the service class per route. A single piece of checked baggage should weigh no more than 32kg (70lbs). Any baggage exceeding the 32kg weight limit must be repacked or will not be accepted for carriage. Check-in baggage that exceeds the allowed dimension and maximum weight shall be treated as oversized or overweight and an Excess Baggage Charge (EBC) shall be collected.

Here are important reminders if you are checking-in carton, cardboard or styrofoam boxes:

  • Use thick, high-grade carton, cardboard or styrofoam boxes to ensure durability of the box to handle ramp transfer conditions.
  • Styrofoam boxes and coolers must be placed inside a sturdy carton or cardboard box for extra protection.
  • There should be additional wrapping (bubble wrap, corrugated packaging, etc.) for food and liquid items, to be placed inside the styrofoam box to avoid leakage.

Important Notice

Each flight ticket has its own Free Baggage Allowance (FBA) policy. This Free Baggage Allowance (FBA) entitlement is valid only on that specific flight and may not necessarily apply to your connecting flights. Philippine Airlines (PAL) or other carriers may require you to pay Excess Baggage Charge (EBC) if your Free Baggage Allowance (FBA) entitlement is lower on your connecting flights.

Philippine Airlines (PAL) reserves the right to change the fare benefits, conditions and Excess Baggage Charge (EBC) without prior notice.
